Following the successful 2011 return of the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show, we journeyed to Oklahoma to meet with Deanna Fields. Fields is the Executive Director of the Manufactured Housing Association of Oklahoma (MHAO) and is also coordinating the 2011 Great Southwest Home Show at the QuikTrip Center in Tulsa, OK, along with the help of her fine Show team. This is the world’s largest indoor manufactured housing event, and it promises to be a good one!

When you have some 30+ homes and 50+ booths, plus Industry Mixer, informative and business building Seminars, contest drawings, incentives and much more, you have to plan for EVERYTHING. Onsite Registration, traffic flow, timing, security, ease of set up and much more are all items that were part of the discussion.
The use of online promotion to drive industry Trade Days – including what is provided by MHMSM.com – as well as mailers, phone calls and much more are part of the elements designed to attract hundreds of returning and hundreds of more industry pros to this top event. Fields stated that she anticipates some 1000 attendees in this great venue for this top event.
The Tulsa Show planning committee looks to be blocks away – and they are! – In this video that demonstrates the sheer size of this location and event.
Doug Gorman, Show Committee Chairman, says that he and a number of manufacturers expect the Great Southwest Home Show to become the manufactured housing industry’s largest and best attended Industry event ever. Reasons include easy access to Southwest Airlines and other discount airfare opportunities. Great interstate highway access, the Amtrak option, a superior facility, utility hookups routinely positioned on the facilities floor, acres of free parking outside the doors, and great lodging options, including the Hard Rock hotel and casino, are among the reasons this is a superior location.
Manufacturers from surrounding states as well as from more distant locations are making plans to attend and display their homes. Some 30 new model homes are already scheduled from about 15 different manufacturers. Public Days create further opportunities to drive business immediately after the Trade Days wrap up. Last year, retailers who purchased show homes sold models – sometimes for cash – right off the show floor during Public Days! Post show follow-up business adds even more reasons for retailers, developers, community operators and manufacturers to come, with so much more available as extra bonuses.

To give you a sense of the enormous size of this facility, indoor auto races are held in here!
This is the space across from the main entrance where finance and other seminars – including the popular ‘Dominate Your Local Market’ Seminar will be set up and held. these free seminars are one of many reasons why Industry Pros should make this a must attend event.
Across from the main entry is where an area will be set up for seminar attendees. The popular ‘Dominate Your Local Market’ seminar that was such a hit at Louisville will be offered April 29th at 10 AM. Bob Stovall and I will be presenting the ‘Dominate Your Local Market’ business-building, info-packed session that can be used to drive business for retailers, land lease (manufactured home community) owners and operators, developers and all other aspects of the industry that brings exhibitors and attendees.
Plans to accommodate hundreds of industry pros for the Industry Mixer on April 28th are being made, with some 700 or more attendees expected for this one element! Since the Mixer will be held at the Tulsa Show site itself, attendees and exhibitors can then go back out to the Show floor to see model homes as desired, an advantage that other shows have not offered.
The bottom line IS the reason to come to Tulsa this year—YOUR bottom line, that is! Industry pros will have a superior mix of networking, business building, wholesale and retail opportunities, seminars, contests, incentives and just plain fun for those who attend. Click here to learn more. We will be there, and we hope to see YOU at the 2011 Great Southwest Home Show in Tulsa, OK at The QuikTrip Center.
