Apart from a clear understanding about what is and isn’t ‘the truth’ on any given subject, the threat of getting sucked in by a clever deception will increase. A Google search this morning for “If Something is Going to Affect Your Life, It’s Best to Know as Much as You Can About It” does not yield a specific result attributed to Donald J. Trump. An image search for that quote, including using “Success Thread” – which created the base featured image above – also yields nada. There are several possible explanations, but whatever the accuracy or not of the attribution, the advice is priceless regardless of who said it.
It is also reminiscent of the following saying by Matthew Kelly. Kelly is a success guru in his own right, one who is ‘into’ the balanced living belief. While Kelly has said it quite differently, both the quotation above attributed to Trump and the “Superficiality is the curse of the modern world” make the point that more knowledge, more precise information is better when it comes to important topics.
With that thought in mind, the following articles from MHLivingNews and/or MHProNews are ‘deeper dives’ into timely – and often timeless – topics.
Apart from a clear understanding about what is and isn’t ‘the truth’ on a given subject, the threat of getting sucked in by a clever deception grows. The report and commentary below aren’t just seasonal.
Next, and not necessarily in the order of importance, is the issue of who controls the media and what their financial ties and motivations happen to be. It is too much to say that all media sing from the same songbook. But it is demonstrably accurate to say that much of the media is owned by a relatively few firm that often have extensive media interests.
Once the notion that ‘monopolization’ can be performed by a duopoly or an oligopoly (two or more groups or organizations, etc.), the report focused on James A. Schmitz Jr.’s ongoing study in the history of “sabotaging monopolies” in the U.S. becomes important. Professor Schmitz has looked several times specifically into this phenomenon as it relates to manufactured housing.
For those who fear that the powerhouse financial giants in America can’t be beaten, think again. History is replete with examples of ‘giants’ – think Goliath – that were slain by a David or groups of proverbial Lilliputians. Once the sleeping giant of the masses are aroused, look out Goliath…
It is astonishing, even to a long-time trade publisher like me, how often the ‘deeper dive’ type articles get so many readers. I’m not an Enquirer reader (save walking past them at the checkout stands where they are offered), but I’ve long thought their slogan or tag line is insightful. “Enquiring minds want to know.” The Latin maxim “scientia potentia est” means “knowledge is potential power.” Here we provide the “Intelligence for your MHLife” © that fits our longtime tagline, “Industry News, Tips, and Views Pros Can Use.” ©
News should inform. Trade news should hold the powers that be accountable. Who says? The American Press Institute.
