Not Knowing – Manufactured Housing’s Glass Ceiling? – and Profitable Corporate Advancement

The editorial plan here is always subject to change, and last night's "Industry Voices" guest post deserved more than a passing nod, before we dive into the MH Industry's 'glass ceiling' and more.

We don't know what we don't know.

Duh, right?

But we are often trapped – and thus limited – by what we don't know, similar to whatever we refuse to consider.

Beyond absolute Truths, which by definition are unchanging, there are relative truths or subjective truths. You may like beer better than vodka or red wine, or you may drink no alcohol at all; that's a subjective – or a little 't' truth, and it is subject to change. God exists – sorry Carl Sagan – is a big T truth – and you and I exist too.

As limiting as a bad habit is a lack of knowledge, or sometimes worse still, a refusal to consider something new from person or organization Z instead of person or organization A.

We may not 'like' on Facebook some person/cause/company/organization, but that doesn't mean they may not have a brilliant idea, or a break through action we can learn from.

In a trillion dollar U.S. housing market, manufactured housing could do more. How? What next steps?

With that tee up, please take a look at this guest column, and don't let the head-line fool you…

Global Eyes on Manufactured Housing's Movers, Shakers and News-makers Report

Publishing a column absolutely doesn't mean it will be read a lot! Professionals, researchers and investors like you have their own interests and agenda. So when this report linked below went live in our Industry In Focus reports, and rapidly began to rise near the top in readership, it tells us something!

As you look at the report above, ask yourself, do manufactured home corporations have a glass ceiling? Let's stress – corporate – because in associations, females do very well, also among mom-and-pop independents as do women in the management ranks of companies too.

Going higher…Upgrades!

As soon as you go higher, you can see farther. We have a number of upgrades we'd like to do, and would value the corporate and other support needed to make it happen, as it will benefit our industry and all involved. We are already Number 1, but this would be another set of significant steps ahead, that could allow us to continue to influence players (and help clients profit more) in and out of our great industry.

Updated and Upgraded Tornadoes and Manufactured Housing video

Currently at some 75,000 views in under a year, but tweaks and a new production could make the video linked below go viral.

We put this video together desk-top (no budget) a year ago; today with the skill set that our colleagues at ManufacturedHomes have, we could make a video truly eye-popping. Such a video would minimize – or at times, make this an asset rather than a liability – a routine issue with the media, regulators, and the home buying public.

Which means YOU and YOUR operation could see sales grow as a result.

Please see the current 'desktop production' video on the following page linked below, which some of our clients have already used to close sales with customers sitting on the proverbial fence.  Then imagine an improved version 2.0!

Launch the MH Discussion Forums

Professionals need a superior online discussion forum, which we've long planned for MHProNews. In fact, the forum tab is already in the top red menu on the home page, there as a place holder.

A good forum must allow the best and brightest to be involved.  Yet those often stay out of places like LinkedIn groups; some because they are concerned that some completely self-serving or jealous person will attack them just for spite's sake.

To address those kinds of concerns and opportunities, we would want to do a forum properly, that takes a modest additional budget – not just the technology (that's the easy part). But the dollars need for human moderation, required to address any nonsense caused and to rapidly be unpublished (deleted); then the offender gets warned or banned, as circumstances dictate.

Great items come from a good forum. Robust discussion, good!  Online bullying, not so good.

Would your organization sponsor it?

A good forum would be more useful for a company, organization and to the industry than many suspect.

Factory Built Home Video Channel, More…

Many other envisioned content or other upgrades could boost our industry – including exploring a manufactured housing video channel that would feature interviews, testimonials, myth busting facts and more – such and more items are on our pro-industry agenda.

Please check out this link, and let us know your interests.

See you this weekend, here on the Masthead blog?

Remember that together, we go higher, see farther and do more. ##
