When you promote the value and durability of our product, you are protecting and promoting yourself and our manufactured and modular home industry. Let's start the day with some quotes from Industry personalities you may know, and then wrap up with a few rapid fired points on protecting and promoting yourself in an enlightened fashion.
Quotable Quotes. Each of the quotable quotes is used with the permission of the person named:
“I am a true believer in the durability of Manufactured Homes and this video is testimony as to how well they are built.”
– Jodi Kirincich
“I was impressed with your dramatic video. It demonstrates that if a manufactured home is properly anchored, as all homes should be, that the damage from strong winds is minimal to the home.”
– Dennis Hill
“This video should be mandatory viewing for all weather people–especially those employed by NOAA."
– Marge Clark, Grand Lakeview MHC
“Wow! Great video showing how well our homes do in strong winds! “
– Betty Whitaker. Executive Director,
KY Manufactured Housing Institute
“The video gives a wonderful demonstration to the quality homes our industry produces. Our homes are warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and safe in a storm. I have lived in one of our factory built homes for the last 18 years. The homes our industry produces today have a combination of safety, economy, and affordability that can not be surpassed. “
– John Bostick, President, Sunshine Homes and
Chairman of Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform.
We have more, but don't want to overdo the point today.
If you've been in the factory built housing industry for more than 6 months, then you already know that among the typical “hits” against manufactured housing has been the regrettable notion that we are somehow more vulnerable than conventional construction in a tornado or high winds. If you watch the video carefully, the text on the screen explains that the home shown was already in a tornado, and then was subjected to the what is shown on this video!
In other words, the truth is very different than the myth.
No tool is perfect, but having a good tool is better than having no tool at all. Please practice enlightened self interest! If you want to protect and promote yourself – in addition to being in an association – please do the following:
-
Share the link to this video with everyone at your location.
-
If you are a subordinate, send the video up the food chain in your organization.
-
Send the video to your customers and your email.
-
As Marge Clark suggested, send the link to the video to your local weather man!
We've seen some pretty stupid videos go viral on topics that are close to meaningless. You've forwarded all sorts of things to all sorts of people, right? Why not practice some enlightened self-interest? To Protect and Promote yourself, please share this video link far and wide!
Who knows? Maybe the person you influence by helping share this video link will be a customer of your company some day.
Maybe it is or will be a media person or politicians who says, wait a minute, I saw a video of a manufactured home that was hit by a tornado, and it did just fine!
There are countless reasons to share this, but let me close with this thought:
It is better to light one candle than curse the darkness.
-Motto of the Christophers
Thanks in advance for passing on the light to others about how tough properly installed manufactured homes truly are! ##
