The Denver Channel’s Connor Wist and their video news team filed a report that spotlighted developer Adam Berger’s use of modular construction as a way of addressing the demand for more affordable homes, in a labor-tight market.
Modular and manufactured housing professionals and investors know the story well.
“By building it off site you control your labor costs, you control your construction scheduling,” said Berger told Denver 7. “Ultimately you’re able to deliver housing at a price that people can afford to buy, which is an issue with the Denver market.”
“Part of the reason why we can do it so quickly is because essentially everything in the unit is finished,” said Berger.
The station invites feedback on their report, see their story, linked here. They used the term “mobile home,” in their report. Do they know there have been no mobile homes built in the U.S. since June 15, 1976?
MHProNews plans to reach out to the station, and see if they will update or do a report that clarifies issues about HUD Code homes that are missed, which they otherwise provided a fair and useful report for modular building. “We Provide, You Decide.” © ## (News, analysis, and commentary.)
