SacBee reports Lippert Components, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Drew Industries Incorporated, has acquired Indiana-based M&M Fabricators to expand its chassis customization business. With revenues of $3 million annually, M&M modifies chassis primarily for producers of specialized commercial vehicles, Class A and Class C Motorhome RVs, and transit buses. The alteration process requires a variety of fabricated steel parts that fold nicely into the capabilities of Lippert Components, which will promote immediate efficiencies. “Lippert Component’s existing chassis customization operation will be consolidated into the M&M facility, which we acquired in this transaction,” said Jason Lippert, Chairman and CEO of Lippert Components. “This will enable us to significantly reduce overhead costs and improve production efficiencies.” Drew Industries supplies components to the manufactured and modular housing industries, including doors, windows, bath and shower units, axles, chassis and chassis parts, and upholstered furniture. Drew also makes components for truck caps, watercraft trailers, livestock, and other cargo-oriented industries through its 32 facilities throughout the nation.
