The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) tells MHProNews.com Housing and Urban Development (HUD) statistics show production of HUD Code homes rose to 4,630 homes in April 2012, a 17.4 percent increase over April 2011 production of 3,944 homes, marking nine months of consecutive industry growth. The top ten states for shipments from Aug. 2011 to April 2012 are, with number of homes shipped: Texas 7,498; Louisiana 3,125; Alabama 2,137; North Dakota 1,902; North Carolina 1,871; Florida 1,830; Kentucky 1,581; Mississippi 1,461; Maryland 1,339; and Oklahoma 1,264. Additionally, MHARR will be releasing information shortly concerning initiatives to increase the availability of public and private financing, and chattel loans, for purchasing manufactured homes.
