The Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC) held its first meeting of 2011, under its new HUD-appointed Chairman, by telephone conference call on January 27, 2011. The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR), however, noted in an email with “continued HUD blunders” in the title, that because notice of the meeting was not published by HUD in the Federal Register more than 15 days prior to the meeting date, as required, no motions could be offered and no votes were taken on any issue during the two-hour session. “HUD offered no explanation of its failure to provide something as simple as timely public notice of the meeting, despite having received millions of dollar in taxpayer funds since 2009 and having increased the size of its staff despite dramatically reduced industry production,” the MHARR email states. “This is just the latest example, however, of ongoing mismanagement of the program.”
