Following a story MHProNews posted July 29, 2015 regarding a Request for Information (RFI) from the General Services Agency (GSA) concerning manufactured homes for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) says it is “questionable.”
MHARR states FEMA may be seeking suppliers of emergency housing, but, because responses need to be submitted in seven days, it may be a foregone conclusion that certain parties have been pre-contacted about the homes. MHARR says the language used in the RFI is similar to HUD’s solicitations “that have resulted in the same entrenched manufactured housing program contractor for forty years — either HUD’s revenue-driven ‘monitoring’ contractor or another organization that has had a major role in the development and promotion of an expected high-cost manufactured housing energy rule.” ##
