The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) issued a statement vehemently objecting to the Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s involving the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) investigations of issues of fire, safety and health in the manufactured housing industry, issues already covered by HUD. MHARR sees it as another attempt to further hobble an already crippled industry. The recently circulated joint report from HUD and the CDC, says MHARR, “is a biased, one-sided and misleading anti-industry smear – produced under false pretenses – that consistently presents manufactured housing in the worst possible light and unfairly lumps manufactured housing together with other types of manufactured structures.” MHARR will thoroughly analyze the report and issue its response upon completion of its analysis.
