Washington, D.C., October 27, 2015 – MHARR informs MHProNews that in response to an invitation by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) to “bring new ideas to the table on how best to fight the problems of poverty and housing affordability” on the 50th anniversary of the legislation that established the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), MHARR has submitted a white paper to Congress detailing how manufactured housing – regulated by HUD itself — could play a much larger role in resolving the nation’s affordable housing crisis, but is relegated to policy obscurity at HUD by an entrenched culture of institutional discrimination
In this submittal to Congress, MHARR President and CEO Mark Weiss methodically details manufactured housing’s unique ability to fulfill and advance the most crucial elements of HUD’s founding mission.
The complete MHARR white paper will be published in the upcoming November issue of MHProNews.com. UPDATE – that MHARR white paper is now published, and can be found linked here. ##
