The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) reports in its weekly newsletter that Congressional Republicans are receptive to correcting measures in the Dodd-Frank Act that unfairly impact the manufactured housing industry. Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee have not been as receptive, but ranking Democrat Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), co-author of the original bill, indicated strong interest in trying to resolve the concerns of the manufactured housing industry. MHI realizes support from both sides of the aisle, especially in the Democrat-controlled Senate, is imperative in trying to amend Dodd-Frank to improve financing possibilities for affordable housing.
