This week, MHI was invited to participate in a briefing before the House Financial Services Committee relating to housing finance. The briefing was well attended by staff for Members of Congress who sit on the committee. Among the items raised by MHI during the briefing include: FHA title I and the lack of a final rule from HUD in this area; the statutory “duty to serve manufactured housing” requirement for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; and possible legislative proposals relating to a successor entity for Fannie and Freddie and what that would mean for manufactured housing. MHI will continue to be fully engaged in these matters as it has in the past.
