Jason Boehlert, a seasoned government relations professional with over 13 years of lobbying and advocacy experience, will be joining the MHI team later this month as our new Vice-President of Government Relations.
His background includes service on behalf of the home building industry and more recently as the Director of Government Relations for the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), where his focus is on the day-to-day strategies and management of NADO’s entire legislative department, and advocates on issues related to economic and community development initiatives.
Jason works closely with a large number of Congressional members important to the industry and connected to the Manufactured Housing Caucus. He has close ties to House and Senate Committees relevant to the factory-built housing industry, including Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, House Financial Services, and Appropriations, and has a proven background in developing grassroots campaigns. Additionally, he has served in the offices of Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and the US Trade Representative (USTR). He holds a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University and a master’s in Political Management from The George Washington University.
Jason has a longstanding affinity and passion for the industry. In fact, his mother currently lives in a manufactured home community in the San Jose area.
With his vast knowledge of the political and legislative process, and the energy he brings with him, we are delighted with his addition to the staff team.
Jason will join an experienced MHI advocacy team, and will hold primary responsibility for coordinating and implementing MHI’s legislative and lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill. Rae Ann Bevington, Vice-President of Legislative and Political Affairs, will continue to hold primary responsibility for MHI’s political activities, fundraising, and PAC efforts, as well as bring her experience into the legislative arena. Lois Starkey, Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs, will continue to oversee and coordinate MHI’s critically important regulatory work with the Federal agencies.
Jason will be on staff during the MHI Legislative Conference and Summer Meeting.
