From Minnesota the West Central Tribune reports that orders to repair and improve manufactured homes — or demolish those not meeting safety and building codes — will be presented to the owners of multiple homes in the Northdale Community in Montevideo. City Council members there approved resolutions directing the improvements after reviewing inspection reports by the city building inspector. City Manager Steve Jones told the reporter inspections resulted in a substantial number of improvements that are needed. For example, some of the homes lack tie-downs, others have broken windows, inoperable furnaces, deteriorating floors and hanging electrical wires.
