LawnStarter called Lakeland and Winter Haven FL, two of the largest Polk County, Florida towns, the number one “Mobile Home Mecca” on October 31, 2016.
A LawnStarter “review of U.S. Census Bureau data shows that last year, 21.5 percent of all homes in Lakeland-Winter Haven, including houses, apartments and condos, were mobile homes. That’s the highest percentage among the country’s 100 largest metro areas. By contrast, 6.4 percent of all U.S. homes in 2015 were mobile homes, according to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.” They interviewed L. A. “Tony” Kovach for that report.
Kovach explained to that media outlet that the term “mobile homes” only covered part of the factory-built housing units found in Lakeland-Winter Haven, Polk County, FL.
Here is how Lawnstarter wrote that in their report.
“The Census Bureau classifies them as “mobile homes,” but the modern versions actually are known as manufactured homes. Technically, the term “mobile home” is supposed to be applied only if the structure was built before July 15, 1976; after that date, the appropriate term is “manufactured home.” For this article, we’re mostly sticking with “mobile home.”
L.A. “Tony” Kovach, publisher of two trade publications covering the manufactured housing industry, MHLivingNews.com and MHProNews.com, says one factor that contributes to Lakeland-Winter Haven’s status as a mobile home hub is that it’s a magnet for retirees. In the Lakeland-Winter Haven area, 26 percent of residents are in the 60-and-over group; nationally, that number is 21 percent.”
Earlier that same year, on January 17, 2016, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told county residents that it is “more important to have a gun in your hand than a cop on the phone.” So said AWR Hawkins, an award-winning second amendment writer for right-of-center Breitbart News.
Tampa Bay metro’s ABC 7 was among the regional media that report the following quote by Sheriff Judd.
“If you value your life, they probably shouldn’t do that in Polk County. Because the people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and they’re going to be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded, and if you try to break into their homes to steal, to set fires, I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns. So, leave the community alone,” said Judd.
On Sunday afternoon, May 31, MHProNews team members happened to stumble into a crowd of protesters forming on Memorial and South Florida Ave. Traffic was being partially blocked by chanting and sign-carrying picketers. We watched as regional news reporters took up that intersection.
Later, that crowd was dispersed by using tear gas and pepper spray against protesters.
Judd warned possible lawbreakers that, “If you are foolish enough to break into someone’s home, you can expect to be shot in Polk County.”
The ubiquitous Drudge Report reports that gun sales have recently surged 80 percent. Pro-Second Amendment sources have said that it is precisely the potential for the breakdown of law and order, or the inability for police to get to a dangerous scene that explains the millions of handguns and semiautomatic weapons.
Miami officials told the public that most of the “agitators” where “outsiders.” The Miami Herald said that “people arrested are known to have addresses from out of state.” Miami’s Local10 said 2 days ago that of the 57 arrested, only 8 were from Miami. 15 percent were not only from out of town, but they were from out of state.
The Rev cited Terrance Floyd’s – the dead-by-cop George Floyd’s brother speech – using these words.
“I understand you all upset, but I can deservedly say, I dealt in y’all’s habits of society. So if I’m not over here wilding out, if I’m not over here blowing up stuff if I’m not over here messing up my community, then what are y’all doing? What are y’all doing? Y’all doing nothing, because that’s going to bring my brother back at all.”
Some in the crowd blamed “Donald Trump’s buddies” for the violence, to which Terrance Floyd said this.
“It may feel good for the moment, just like when you drink, but when it come down, you going to wonder what you did. My family is a peaceful family. My family is God fearing. Yeah, we upset, but we not going to take it, we not going to be repetitious. In every case of police brutality, the same thing has been happening. Y’all protest, y’all destroy stuff, and they don’t move. You know why they don’t move? Because it’s not their stuff, it’s our stuff…Let’s do this another way.”
In the backdrop of all this are months of lockdowns with some 40 million who lost their jobs as “non-essential” businesses were shut down. There was concerns raised that the cure might be worse than the Wuhan Virus/COVID19 pandemic.
The pandemic, loss of jobs, weeks of being largely locked up in numerous cities, have set the powder keg for a perfect storm of violence.
“I’ve got news for you, mayors and governors and all these Democrats, black voters want law and order. The [Los Angeles] mayor doesn’t get it,” said Leo Terrell, a black and pro-Democratic attorney who is hardly a President Trump supporter.
The politicization of this is inevitable, and is already well underway. But what must be grasped is the backdrop that leads to this unrest. As usual, there are no coincidences and a key is to follow the money.
Anarchists Getting Political Cover From Leftists Weaponizing Urban Unrest Over George Floyd Killing by Rogue Cop
“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” said former President Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, per GoodReads. It is a troubling theme that MHProNews has reported periodically for years, but now more specifically focused on the national woes following the coronavirus pandemic, and the money and power grabs that have flowed during this escalating crisis.
Emanuel was echoing the thoughts of “Rules for Radicals” author Saul Alinsky.
“Never Let a Good Crisis Go To Waste” – COVID19 Pandemic – Problems and Solutions
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA-D) recently reminded listeners at a press conference that Democratic House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn echoed Emanuel, saying that the COVID19/Wuhan Virus fueled crisis was an opportunity to further their agenda. “This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) was reported as saying by The Hill on March 19, 2020. Speaker Pelosi promoted that Clyburn/Emanuel tactic, and referred to President Trump’s raising concerns about China’s behavior in this an “interesting diversion.”
That phrase has been cited by Chinese media which are often seen as propaganda arms of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Here is an example from Chinese media, “WASHINGTON, May 14 (Xinhua) — U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday that the White House’s rhetoric on China is a “diversion” from its own missteps in handling the coronavirus outbreak.
The Global China Daily said on May 15, “WASHINGTON – US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday that the White House’s rhetoric on China is a “diversion” from its own missteps in handling the coronavirus outbreak.” Almost the same words as Xinhua used.
What happened to Democratic Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s admonition that politics are supposed to end at the waters edge? When national security is at stake, Clinton’s point – sincerely said or not – is an apt point when economic, propaganda and biological ‘warfare’ are at play.
Pelosi’s backers include Disney, which owns ABC and other media assets. Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, multiple Berkshire brands, and even right-of-center Fox News parent News Corp supported Pelosi’s political campaign in the current 2020 cycle. Pelosi – a multi-millionaire – in turn supports numerous other Democratic candidates, all per FEC records as reported by Open Secrets.
Leftist nonprofit Public Citizen told MHProNews via email that as “helicopters were flying overhead” they denounced President Trump’s words urging unity and an end to civil unrest as “racist.” Really? Here are left-0f-center NBC and CNBC on those purportedly racist comments by the 45th president.
“Public Citizen, Inc. is a liberal 501(c)(4) lobbying and advocacy organization created by left-wing activist and former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader.[1] The organization supports a broad liberal policy agenda focused on opposing to the free-market interests of American business owners.” So says Influence Watch, which stated the following insights about Public Citizen (PC).
“Throughout its more than 30-year history Public Citizen touts that it successfully advocated for numerous left-wing policy mandates. The group’s anti-free-market lobbying agenda supports,” and “ PC chastises special interest lobbying for undermining the legitimacy of American Democracy.[8] However, Public Citizen is a lobbying entity[9]funded by a number of liberal financiers and special interests such as liberal billionaire George Soros, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, and the Rockefeller Foundation.”
“Public Citizen uses lobbying, litigation, research, and advocacy[13] to push a broad liberal policy agenda,” said Influence Watch. Other philanthropy watch groups on either side of the left-right divide cite ties between Public Citizen and Warren Buffett, Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway which owns Clayton Homes, 21st Mortgage Corporation, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, and numerous other brands which tend to dominate the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), has ties through nonprofits funded by Buffett to Public Citizen and a range of left wing groups and their leaders.
This isn’t a conspiracy theory, these are facts that are readily available for those willing to do even basic research from public sources. A pro-Buffett video biography previously spotlighted by MHProNews is posted once more below. It clearly had Buffett’s full cooperation. The credits at the end of the video are a list of causes that sometimes sound good. But when the actual use of those nonprofit dollars is examined it would shock thousands of manufactured housing professionals. MHProNews has spotlighted some of those instances in reports like the one linked here and here, but also from the ‘hub’ report below.

“Community Organizer” Barack Obama, Donald K. Ross, Nonprofits And Buffett
“Donald K. Ross is a left-wing environmental activist credited with proposing the model of the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs) in the 1970s alongside activist Ralph Nader. The PIRGs, state-based policy advocacy groups, operate under the national U.S. Public Interest Research Group (US-PIRG); US-PIRG and numerous other left-wing policy advocacy groups, including the canvassing services group Fund for the Public Interest, are controlled by the umbrella group Public Interest Network. Ross worked as the founding director of New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) from 1973 to 1982, where he reportedly grew the organization to 180 staffers operating out of 31 offices. [8] Barack Obama, then a student at Columbia University, worked full-time for NYPIRG as a community organizer from February through May 1985. [9] Ross later worked as director of Ralph Nader’s group Citizen Action.”
As riots have spread across America, several of the groups have ties to Buffett, other leftist-supporting billionaires like Soros, Gates, Bloomberg and others named in MHProNews recent report linked below.
MHProNews Analysis and Commentary
If you asked the typical independent manufactured home professional if they believed in the lawless looting and violence, they would reply ‘no.’
Per Yahoo News/YouGov Poll on May 31, “Likewise, 72 percent of Americans said they “strongly approve” of the firing of Chauvin and the three other Minneapolis police officers involved in Floyd’s death; an additional 12 percent “somewhat approve.”
More than three-quarters (77 percent) said Chauvin was “obviously guilty and, if anything, the authorities were too slow to arrest him”; only 23 percent think “there has been a rush to judgment” and want “a more thorough investigation.”
But there is ample evidence that companies that independents are doing with yield profits that Buffett and other leftist billionaires have donated to for years that are now pouring fuel on the fires of racial and other social unrest. The brief survey above and what’s linked are examples of that point.
Some of what is occurring in America is pure deception. On political, historic as well as spiritual grounds, avoiding falling victim of deception should be a focus of professionals and all those who care about the future of their industry and their country.
Centuries of spiritual and other wisdom cautions and advises the importance of avoiding being mislead, led to or deceived. Here are some examples.
- “Jesus said: “Watch out that no one deceives you.” (Mt. 24.4).
- “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6.
- “And do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Indeed, Allah loves not one who is a habitually sinful deceiver. [Quran, 4:107]” – according to the Understand Quran Academy.
- “All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War, per GoodReads.
- “Just because something isn’t a lie does not mean that it isn’t deceptive. A liar knows that he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction.”
― Criss Jami, per GoodReads.
