Two-thirds of the $60 million annual earnings for Anchorage Alaska-based modular construction company Builders Choice Inc. (BCI) come directly from the burgeoning oil and gas industry, according to alaskajournal.com. Revenues have multiplied six-fold since Sandi and Mark Larson bought the business in 2001. Working out of a 50,000 square foot facility, with 200 employees, they have refocused away from residential modular homes to commercial and industrial projects, and intend to open a lumber and building-related hardware business. Modular hotels and other commercial buildings, especially in remote areas, have been a mainstay for the company. In addition, MHProNews has been informed BCI also has a modular plant in South Dakota serving the Bakken oil fields housing projects in North Dakota. ##
