Modular buildings will be installed to replace the cafeteria and band room that were destroyed after an arsonist with a history of setting fires was arrested for causing the million dollar blaze at South Albany High School in Albany, Oregon. Zachary Burghart admitted to throwing a lit cigarette into a dumpster at the school.
Modular units will also house the choir, child development and foods classes until a new building is completed just before the 2015-2016 school year begins, as KOIN TV6 tells MHProNews..
Deen Castronovo, drummer for the rock band Journey, donated $10,000 to help replace some of the musical instruments lost in the blaze. He attended South Salem (OR) High School in nearby Salem, Oregon. ##
