The Tri-State Housing Task Force mini-summit held June 19 in Keokuk, Iowa heard Dan Eberhardt of the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission (SEIRPC) say “You cannot thrive unless you pay attention to your residential homes.” Representatives of Northeast Community Action Corporation of Missouri (NECAC) state they have helped over 1,500 people with rehabs, repairs, weatherization, homeowner counseling, and foreclosure modification assistance. NECAC’s Carla Potts says the Housing Task Force Steering Committee has established a program whereby modular homes can be purchased at wholesale prices. As dailygate informs MHProNews, the goal of the task force is to educate local officials about the availability of state and federal workforce housing initiatives and innovative financing resources. The Tri-State Summit area covers 35 counties encompassing 680,000 square miles in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.
