Phillyburbs reports 512 inmates will be moving into new modular units at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility just west of Philadelphia. Built by NRB USA in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, each of the four units will contain 128 inmates, in four, 32 inmate dormitory-style pods, four beds in each cubicle. The modular complex will also include administration offices, classrooms, a courtroom and a storage area, and will be ready for occupancy by September. This minimum-security facility will be used for work-release inmates, drunk drivers serving weekend sentences, as well as parole and probationary violators. Warden Julio M. Algarin said there will be 120 surveillance cameras in and around the modular structure. He said, “You trust this population but not that much.”
