According to 10news, San Diego County in California has approximately 2,000 homeless military veterans and many more who are low income. V Micro Communities President Bill Rigdon says he can build a 140 modular unit rental development in nine months, but permits through the city could take three years.
Rigdon has asked Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s office for assistance in speeding up the process; but the city says Rigdon has not begun the process yet.
Rigdon says the multifamily modular homes would include garages and yards, and as MHProNews understands, the housing would be reserved for military veterans. ##
