Flood waters that displaced up to 900 people in Calgary, Alberta, Canada caused over $250 million in damages and led to the issuance of a state of emergency by Mayor Naheed Nanshi. According to Bruce Burrell, head of the Calgary Emergency Management Agency, “We’re in conversation with the province about building temporary neighborhoods within the city of Calgary. We have three locations that are graded and ready to go that were already available sites.” Tentative plans call for siting of modular homes in those locations to house the displaced, as cbc.ca informs MHProNews.
