Updating a story MHProNews published July 10, 2015 about non-profit Interfaith Housing Services in Hutchinson, Kansas set to receive property from the Hutchinson Land Bank for two modular homes, land bank chairman Mark Eaton said, “We are very excited to transfer our first property. And we have three other properties that are in various stages of transfer,” according to hutchnews.
Legally separate from the city, the land bank was formed in January 2014 to return abandoned and foreclosed properties to the tax rolls. The property on Avenue G where the two modular homes will be sited was donated to the land bank this past January. A grant from the U. S Department of Housing and Urban Development will pay for the homes.
Ron Fisher, Interfaith Housing Director, said, “We are working to improve the neighborhood, and partnering with the land bank worked well for us.” ##
