Modular Housing Building Going Up in Suburban Boston

The Somerville Patch of Somerville, Massachusetts, reports a 15,000 square-foot vacant lot will soon be home to a nine unit modular housing building on Cedar Street.  Plans have been approved by both the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the foundation will be poured once the city approves the foundation permit.  Once the state OKs the project, which includes affordable housing, the modular units will be shipped to the site and assembled.  The proposed three-story building has drawn no opposition at public meetings.
