Four modular apartments to be built in Naramata, British Columbia (BC), Canada will provide affordable housing for seniors and persons with disabilities, continuing an ongoing trend of the Senior’s Rental Housing initiative. Federal and provincial governments contributed a combined total of approximately $720,000 through an amendment to the Canada-British Columbia Affordable Housing Agreement. The British Columbia Province also donated the land, valued at $593,000. As PentictonWesternNews tells MHProNews.com, the modular project stems from a $365 million joint investment through Canada’s Economic Action Plan. Bill Barisoff, Speaker of the House and member of the legislative assembly (MLA) for Penticton, in southern BC says, “These new units of affordable housing help Naramata seniors continue living in an area where they have established roots and remain close to family and friends.”
