Turquoise Investments of San Antonio, Texas, will be providing modular housing units for oil field workers in west Texas if the Pecos Economic Development Council (PEDC) gets its way. According to CBS7KOSA, Pecos mayor Venetta Seals says people coming to town cannot find a hotel room. The Pecos City Council is set to turn a 28 acre plot that once was an air base into modular housing to accommodate 500 people. The project calls for the city, located in southwest Texas, to sell the land at $4000 an acre. Seals says even if the oil boom ends the city can utilize the infrastructure and transform the property into apartments or a manufactured home community. Bill Wiseman of Turquoise says his company has provided this type of housing for other oil companies.
