Updating a post we published Nov. 22, 2012 regarding the Broad Group’s proposal to construct the world’s tallest building, Beijing gave its approval for the modular project that will house over 30,000 residents, according to troymedia. Set for construction in Changsha, China, in the Hunan Province, the 220-story building, Sky City, will be completed in seven months. Two years ago the Broad Group made a video of the round-the-clock construction of a 30-story modular hotel in 15 days. As MHProNews reported Nov. 22, the 2,749-foot tall skyscraper will be built at the rate of five stories a day, and due to the use of more wood and less concrete and steel, the structure will withstand a 9.0 magnitude earthquake. Broad intends to license the technology and sell it to other countries.
