The government of New South Wales (NSW) in Australia is seeking proposals to increase the state’s stock of public housing inventory. A report by the state’s Auditor General revealed while NSW has the most extensive supply of housing in Australia, it only has 44 percent of the affordable housing needed, and much of that is the wrong size and location. The report, according to what sourceable.net tells MHProNews, says 30 percent of the three or more bedroom homes only have one or two people living in them. Minister for Finance and Services Greg Pearce states modular housing has worked well in other affordable housing situations in the country and should be considered here as well.
