From the Terrace Standard of British Columbia comes a story about the completion of modular housing units for disabled seniors. The 24 modular units were constructed by Langley-based Britco, and were brought up from its Penticton plant in June. Work on the siding, footings, plumbing, electrical, roofs, beams, landscaping and asphalt is being completed by local contractors. The report says the homes are part of the provincial and Canadian federal government’s $123 million seniors’ rental housing initiative to provide housing to seniors and people with disabilities. Once complete at the end of January, the anticipated cost is expected to be around $4 million.
