In Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, a modular disaster recovery center has replaced a one-time helipad that served the directors of the communications company Vodaphone Mozambique. With land at a premium in the capital city, the center is located atop a five-story building adjoining Vodaphone’s 14-story office building. The three modules, each 130 square feet, were shipped from Sweden’s Flexenclosure to the Maputo port and trucked to the site, which has room for three more modules to allow for future growth. MHProNews has learned from datacenterdynamics the Swedish company has provided nearly 20,000 square feet of modular data center facilities across the African continent.
