Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Kevin Kelley, said the following about Shaun Donovan, who is stepping down as director of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): “On behalf of the nation’s home builders and the former NAHB chairmen who worked closely with HUD Secretary Donovan over the past five years, I wish to thank Secretary Donovan on his tireless work to ensure safe, decent and affordable housing for all Americans. He exhibited steady and exemplary leadership at HUD during extremely challenging times for housing and fought hard to promote policies that will help keep the housing industry and economy moving forward.” AS MHProNews reported May 23, 2014, Mayor Julian Castro of San Antonio, Texas has been nominated to replace Donovan in the HUD post. ##
