OriginationNews says the Census Bureau reports new home sales rose 3.3 percent in April following a 7.3 percent drop in March. MHProNews.com has learned sales of new single-family homes rose to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 343,000 in April from a 332,000 mark in March, besting Wall Street analysts who had predicted 330,000 to 335,000 units. Sales in February were revised upwards by 5,000 units, and in March by 4,000 units. New home sales rose ten percent from April 2011. Regionally, new home sales rose approximately 25% month-over-month in the West and Midwest, increased almost eight percent in the Northeast, and fell ten percent in the South.
