After the former owners of the Anchor Bay Manufactured Housing Community (MHC) just north of Detroit, Michigan lost the 1,300-site community to the bank, J.D. Equity investors purchased it and have been generous in their support of the community. Most recently, according to voicenews.com, one of the investors (who wants to remain anonymous) personally distributed free 12-15 pound turkeys to each home in Anchor Bay. John Tucker, president of Sunrise Homes, which sells and finances new and used manufactured homes, tells MHProNews one of the investors installed a new television set and two new computers in the community’s activity center for children to use in their schoolwork. “It’s just amazing some of the things they do and they do it in every season,” says Tucker, noting he has been in the industry 25 years and has never seen such caring owners. “I’ve been here for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Anchor Bay MHC Community Manager Lisa Drew.
