A developer plans to build a new manufactured home community in Souderton and Hilltown, Pennsylvania. Representatives from School Land Development LLC on Monday presented a sketch plan for 74 single-section manufactured homes to Hilltown’s Board of Supervisors.
Located off County Line Road and Route 309, the proposed manufactured home community would be on part of the property once used by Souderton Area High School. The 40 acres is located in both Hilltown and Souderton.
The Doylestown Intelligencer tells MHProNews that Hilltown’s supervisors sent the preliminary plan back to the developer, however. “There were a lot of issues,” said Township Manager Rick Schnaedter. On the sketch plan, the roadways were too small, there was no access parking and there was a concern among the board that the manufactured home lots weren’t large enough, said Schnaedter.
The developer was advised to refine the engineering sketches before submitting a formal land development plan to the township.
Officials with School Land Development, an affiliate of Sentry Property Management of Colmar, could not be reached for comment.
