The Silver City (New Mexico) City Council approved #SD 14-01 request to plat a new manufactured housing community in town, according to grantcountybeat.com. The developer and his wife are longtime residents of Silver City and are investing their life savings in the project to provide safe, affordable housing for working families. Fending off questions about traffic, infrastructure, drain on utilities and condition of the homes, engineer Pamela Weber assured the council and those present at the public hearing the owners are making a substantial investment in infrastructure and development, and will similarly bring in good quality manufactured homes. MHProNews.com has learned town officials reminded the developers the houses have to be HUD Code and the infrastructure in place before a “Move-in Permit” will be issued. It was not immediately known how many homesites will be set. ##
