As the facts, evidence and analysis (FEA) that follows will reveal, the latest news out of Washington, D.C. ought to bring Christmas cheer to tens of millions of voters across the country. Why? In Trump term 1.0, there were numerous and in various ways, at least semi-successful efforts made by RINOs, Democrats and others in the Establishment who opposed the America First agenda had their notion of successes. To be clear, it may be that the ‘scalp’ obtained by those same forces against Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-R), who was nominated by the former and future President Trump for the role of U.S. Attorney General and stepped aside under a flurry of pushback, is a reminder that there will be skirmishes and battles fought that incoming ‘Sheriff’ Trump and his MAGA “posse” won’t seem to win. But a staple of Trump 1.0 that was renewed during this campaign is the mantra: ‘Promises Made, Promises Kept.’ Trump pitched himself as a law-and-order man, with both past running mate Mike Pence, and current Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance (OH-Senator-R). In this current effort, the debt has ballooned to what some have called unsustainable levels. “As of January 20, 2021, the U.S. national debt stood at $27.76 trillion1.” Both prior and the follow facts are per left-leaning Google’s AI powered Gemini, “The gross national debt has recently surpassed the $36 trillion mark1.” $36,243,656,000,000 and counting is the total per the U.S. Debt Clock. The Biden-Harris (D) years caused an explosion of federal debt of well over 8 trillion dollars, but still yielded more homelessness, more international conflicts, a weaker military posture, more crime, more inflation, and a host of ills that caused sufficient numbers of voters to ignore the often pro-Kamala Harris (and by implication, Joe Biden) mainstream media, big tech, and numerous Wall Street/big corporate interests to vote for Trump, Vance and Republican majorities in the House and Senate. But the bloated Continuing Resolution or CR being pressed by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-R) could threaten to hand Democrats a cudgel that would be used time and again against Republicans if they had enacted the legislation. Details on that follow in Part I and Part II. The potential MHVille and national impact are outlined in Part III of this facts, evidence and analysis (FEA) packed article.

Musk Mobilizes the Masses
Elon Musk isn’t messing around, and he just got a massive scalp to prove it.
The billionaire owner of X started his day by posting a photo of the 1,500-page spending bill in Congress with this question: “Ever seen a bigger piece of pork?”

Scores of Musk posts and reposts followed Wednesday, sending members of Congress scrambling to quickly declare their opposition as calls and emails began flooding the Capitol.
By the afternoon, President-elect Donald Trump declared his opposition. And within hours, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., pulled the bill he had unveiled just a day earlier.
“Elon just became the most powerful person in Washington, D.C., today,” social media influencer Wall Street Mav told The Daily Signal. “He proved he can flip enough votes in Congress to halt a spending bill.”

That’s no easy feat given Congress’ annual ritual of busting the budget.
Congressional leaders, who were hoping to pass the so-called continuing resolution by Friday, turned out to be no match for Musk and the legion of other popular X accounts who railed against pork-barrel spending.
Musk’s relentless focus on the bill Wednesday was particularly salient given his role with Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, whose mission is to reduce waste and cut $2 trillion in spending.
Those goals would be harder to accomplish with a bloated spending bill that adds billions in new spending.
The continuing resolution, which would fund the government until March, was supposed to be lawmakers’ final vote before heading home for Christmas. Instead of a “clean” bill, however, Democrat and Republican negotiators loaded it with a hodge-podge of unrelated policy and additional spending, including a pay raise for members of Congress.
That caught the attention of Ramaswamy, whose video Musk shared with his followers.
“Congress is about to pass a bill that blows away your taxpayer money, but they made it over 1,500 pages long so you wouldn’t read it,” Ramaswamy said. “And the worst part is, they didn’t want you to know about any of it. That’s why they made this a last-minute jam job.”
Call your elected representatives today to stop the steal of your tax dollars!
pic.twitter.com/6suIuQMcO4— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 18, 2024
Ramaswamy asked his social media followers to contact Congress. Musk made the same plea.
The result?
Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., told Fox News’ Chad Pergram that lawmakers got the message.
“The phone was ringing off the hook today. And you know why? Because they were reading the tweets, the X from Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, and they were telling me that they were, that they were listening to them. This shows the influence that President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy have in this process before they’re even in office.”
Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, pointed to Musk’s work on DOGE as a reason for opposing the bill.
“Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk recognize that if they are empowered to somehow reduce government spending and reduce our deficit because, as Elon Musk says, deficit equals inflation, that’s the bottom line,” Harris said. “When we do deficit spending, we are printing money. We are causing inflation.”
The American people didn’t send their Representatives to Washington to vote on a 1500 page bill in less than 24 hours.
The process is broken. We have to change the way business is done in Washington. pic.twitter.com/qV9oLaQSnm
— Rep. Andy Harris, MD (@RepAndyHarrisMD) December 19, 2024
Republicans who were quick to embrace DOGE’s mission last month didn’t have a choice. Musk made sure they knew the consequences.
“Unless @DOGE ends the careers of deceitful, pork-barrel politicians, the waste and corruption will never stop,” Musk wrote.
Unless @DOGE ends the careers of deceitful, pork-barrel politicians, the waste and corruption will never stop.
Therefore, there is no choice but to do so.
I wish there was another way, but there is not.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 18, 2024
After spending $277 million of his own fortune to aid Trump this year, Musk has threatened to use his war chest against weak-kneed Republicans who have questioned the president-elect’s nominees and his America First agenda.
Musk put it bluntly Wednesday afternoon: “Any member of the House or Senate who votes for this outrageous spending bill deserves to be voted out in 2 years!”

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 18, 2024
Conversely, Musk rewarded the bill’s critics by sharing their posts with his 207 million followers—helping to fuel outrage against the bill.
“If not for X, Congress would have gotten away with this ridiculous spending bill,” the account End Wokeness posted. “Business as usual is OVER.”
Musk, who was ridiculed by legacy media journalists for purchasing Twitter for $44 billion in 2022, might just have the last laugh.
“I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet just how powerful X is now. We’re in the middle of an organic cultural and political revolution to give power back to the people,” activist Robby Starbuck wrote. “History will smile on us for what we’ve done here, especially [Elon Musk] for buying it.”
Part III – Additional Information, Analysis and MHVille Commentary
In no particular order of importance are the following points.
1) While Robby Starbuck and other activists have a point that there is what appears to be a cultural shift underway, eternal vigilance must remain the watchword. If Sly Stallone is correct in calling Trump a new George Washington, and others are correct in praising Elon Musk for buying and using X.com as he has for greater freedom of speech, it must also be recognized that the citizenry, “We the People” ought not take our eyes off the prize that voters acted on to re-elect Trump in 2024. Note that November traffic on MHProNews revealed that the #2 article for the month was the one linked below the two freedom quotes below.
That was posted on November 6, 2024 and wasn’t visible on our home page for some time (stuff happens, but it was visible in our eblast and accessible via the Masthead blog link. Inquiring minds want to know. People in or beyond MHVille want to know what is happening in this battle for economic, social, religious, free speech, political (et al) freedoms that Trump and MAGA represent. Note that a special report is pending on top ranking articles on MHProNews in the last 3 months, watch for it. It is revealing about what matters most to readers like you.
2) Some are saying that legacy media is dead, including some in legacy media. That is at best wishful thinking, or hopeful, or whatever emotional description one may wish to plug into that phrasing. It is obvious that many in left-leaning media have taken a serious hit, as viewership of MSNBC and CNN (for example) are down sharply post-election. The argument has been made that you can only mislead your viewers for so long before they will finally wake up and change the channel.
CNN just hit its lowest total day demo rating ever Since Trump’s win🤣😂🤣CNN’s viewership fell by 52 percent – Ouch! This is why👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 They are pushing for Commie The Clown 🤡 to Run Again! Even after she got Boat Raced in November😂pic.twitter.com/3DTTwgph2T
— JC Vollentine (@Theonlyjcvolly) December 18, 2024
3) Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA-D) has raised concerns about Musk, Trump, and DOGE. This is arguably a fine example of paltering, posturing, and propaganda. Did she make similar remarks about Mark Zuckerberg in the 2020 election? Or about billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett, George (and now his son Alex) Soros, and others that previously included Elon Musk supporting Democrats?
NEW: Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren fumes over how close Elon Musk and Donald Trump are, suggests Elon is only working with Trump to get richer.

How did Liz Warren make $60 million as a Senator?
— Spliffymagoo.ron 🦇🔊 (@spliffymagoo) December 18, 2024
“Warren fumes over how close Elon Musk and Donald Trump are, suggests Elon is only working with Trump to get richer.” is part of an X post that includes a video of Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA-D) on left-leaning MSNBC raising concerns about conflicts of interest. Did Elizabeth Warren make similar remarks about Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, George (and now his son Alex) Soros, and prior to this election cycle, Musk too were all among scores of billionaires and corporate interests that supported Democrats, right? That’s not to dismiss her conflict of interest point, but only to put it into a fuller and more accurate context because before this election cycle much of traditional media, and big tech backed Democrats more than they did Republicans, as Open Secrets ironically documents, correct?
Senator Elizabeth Warren has indeed raised concerns about conflicts of interest involving various billionaires, including Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and George Soros. She has been vocal about the influence of wealthy individuals and corporations on politics, advocating for measures like a wealth tax to address these issues.
Regarding the support of billionaires and corporate interests for Democrats, it’s true that many wealthy individuals and big tech companies have historically backed Democratic candidates and causes. OpenSecrets has documented significant contributions from these groups to Democratic campaigns.
So, while Warren’s concerns about Elon Musk’s relationship with Donald Trump are valid, it’s important to consider the broader context of billionaire influence in politics, which spans both major parties. …”
It could be healthy that all of this has come out now, prior to January 20, 2025. The events in the days ahead should be closely monitored by all.
4) There are numerous signs of a cultural shift, but human nature is fickle, and the leaders of Establishment opposition to Trump and the MAGA movement know it. Democrats had an eco-system that was in many respects an echo chamber, and they knew it. Democratic voters listened to NPR and watched left-leaning news channels. Former President Barack Obama alluded to that in the remark below. The left mocked conservative leaning outlets, and the left-leaning media overall had larger audiences.
It can’t be stressed enough that eternal vigilance is the price of freedom. Especially in the emerging AI age, it would be too easy for those with ill intent to manipulate information and create the same type of smear campaign that derailed Gaetz for AG, or has cost numerous souls their reputations or harmed the careers of individuals.
5) Fortunately, there are truth-tellers and there are those who are committed to supporting truth telling. As the planned special report mentioned above will demonstrate for MHVille, the known evidence strongly suggests that traffic on MHProNews dwarfs that of the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), even though they have a budget and staff several times the size of this platform. There are always going to be some who want or prefer their hoped-for or supported narrative, even if it is demonstrably misleading, manipulative or even blatantly false. But the flip side is that there are those who want the truth, or as close to the truth as known evidence can provide. By the way, that pull of truth based on evidence is apparently working on the Patch where we have a series going that allows for topics beyond manufactured housing. Will the powers that be in MHVille try to derail such efforts? Per reports and known evidence, they have already tried to do so several times, with one example linked here. We don’t claim to know what will happen 60 seconds from now, but with God there is always reason for hope.
6) At some point, fear may wane in or beyond MHVille if enough people stay engaged.
7) Stating the obvious, Christmas is almost here, now less than a week away. The believers who centuries ago marked calendars thereby embedded in the culture reminders of what is true and what is ‘real’ only for a time and then fades. Just as fads and fashions change, people obviously can and do change. God instilled in the human heart the thirst for knowledge, the thirst for truth, and a thirst for what is good. God counseled humanity against deception. These are realities that even the modern-day Tower of Babel followers will not easily overcome. The Soviets failed. The Nazis failed. While it may not seem so at the moment, the Communists in China failed in some ways, as they pivoted to embrace Western methods and combined them to create more of a fascist state than a purely communist one. By the way, that pivot towards fascism is what makes Communist China arguably more dangerous than they were before as ideological communists. Russia is dangerous, but Communist China is arguably more dangerous. If God willing we survive and witness a successful Trump inauguration, it is conceivable that Trump (R) will reach a detente with Putin that Biden (D) for his corporatist reasons didn’t seek and obviously didn’t want.
8) Solid family and healthy friendships can be renewing. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the ‘favored’ holidays for tens of millions for those reasons. It is during this time of potential renewal that we close out 2024 and will prepare for 2025.
9) An article that has been in draft status on MHProNews for some time is on the subject of America dodging another bullet with the re-election of Trump. We should thank God for that gift but we should not waste it. What Trump-Vance-Musk-Vivek and untold numbers of MAGA believers did on 12.18.2024 is remind their elected officials that they are supposed to be working for We the People not the corporate interests that wanted the pork spending CR that was killed. But it must be watched, as it could be repackaged.
It is far from dead. It is simply being repackaged. A new horrendous CR will be on the floor tomorrow. https://t.co/bYm0OE6oym
— PatriotRoar (@PatriotsRoar) December 18, 2024
10) If the ‘MAGA posse’ stays engaged and a reasonably clean CR passes, there is an argument to be made that it could bode well for not only Trump 2.0, but also for MHVille. There is a lot of work ahead.
Praise God the Porculus Omnibus CR is DOA!!! https://t.co/yBIiuFQYUI
— Scott deBeaubien (@ScottdeBeaubien) December 19, 2024
We don’t care. The government shuts down every Friday night. It can be shut for a few weeks.
It’s better than spending tens of billions of our dollars on pork and their own personal pay raises.
They shouldn’t get a raise they should be fired.
— Cap’n Jim Miller🇺🇸 (@FunnyJim1965) December 19, 2024
11) If a “Promises Made, Promises Kept” and “law and order” administration emerges, it could prove vital for the prospects of modern manufactured housing. There is ample evidence that the industry has been thwarted from without and within. Those in the MHI “consolidation” orbit, which have been ascendent for several years, may (not certain, but may) face a different landscape. Years of MHProNews documenting the sly tilts of MHI toward Democrats may pay off in the months or years ahead. Time will tell, stay tuned.
12) For instance. Nathan Smith is a former MHI chairman, still sits on MHI boards, and has been a prominent Democratic supporter. Needless to say, Warren Buffett has prominently supported Hillary Clinton, and the Barack Obama-Joe Biden ticket. Buffett stayed quiet in 2024, but that may be because he, as did others, sensed that Trump may win despite the lawfare, smears, big media and big-tech imbalance, and son on.
Note that MHI’s media contact was messaged yesterday. MHProNews plans to report on that in the context of another report planned. Stay tuned for that and more.
13) Dan Bongino has become one of the leading conservative or centrist voices, with an investment interest in Rumble.com, and who has a popular podcast and the time slot of the late Rush Limbaugh on radio. Bongino periodically shares some version of the above, that Republicans are not always the answer, but Democrats are often the root cause. Bongino notes that he sees politics as transactional, similar to how he describes Trump as transactional. Don’t get emotionally involved in a personality, he advises, but stay focused on what a politico is actually doing. Bongino asserts.
Dan Bongino speaks the truth:

Dan Bongino: “Republicans may not be the solution of your problems but democrats are certainly the cause of all your problems right now” pic.twitter.com/bcEc98Skto
— Ronald Kelly (@RonK3l) August 9, 2022
14) It would be too much to say that the rigged system is completely exposed and widely understood. But it is not too much to say that the rigged system is more broadly understood now than even a few years ago and how big media, big tech, big money, has been manipulated to the advantage of a few while Democrats continue to posture as being the party of the little guy is being exposed. Even Democratic Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (VT-DS) recently acknowledged something in similar terms.
The Establishment fostered Trump by their duplicity. As a possible parallel, there is an evidence supported argument that the MHVille Establishment fostered MHARR, MHProNews, MHLivingNews and most recently our increasingly popular series on the Patch. Note that while MHARR and our trade media are independent of each other it is a reasonable observation to say that several of our strategic interests are in alignment.
But with respect to this CR dustup, the initial outcome is arguably a good sign for the American people regardless of who someone voted for because more debt and more sweetheart deals for corporate insiders is not the answer. MHProNews will continue to monitor and report as deemed warranted as the transition advances toward Inauguration Day and the start of Trump 2.0. If Trump 2.0 learns the lessons from the first term, amplifies the successes, minimizes the weaknesses, and follows a “promises made, promises kept” and ‘enforce the law’ formula, that could prove quite useful for manufactured housing industry independents. Time will tell, but the skirmish yesterday was a hopeful sign for millions.
