The FayObserver tells MHProNews.com minimum housing standards are set to be tightened by the Cumberland County Commission in the south central area of North Carolina. In light of neighborhood complaints about the condition of some factory-built housing, the new measure would require all manufactured housing to have skirting around the base by July 2013. A proposed zoning change would outlaw the siting of two manufactured homes on the same lot in a neighborhood, although in an MHC up to three homes can be sited on one home site. A coding committee will consider the zoning change, and then present their findings to the planning board before the measure goes before the county commissioners.
