Washington, D.C., March 4, 2013 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the manufactured housing industry, during January 2013, recorded its first corresponding-month production increase since September 2012, ending four consecutive months of production declines. Just-released statistics for January 2013 indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 4,242 homes, an increase of 6.5% from the 3,983 HUD Code homes produced during January 2012.
A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states for the period of August 2011 through January 2013 — with cumulative shipment totals as indicated — are:

The latest information for January 2013 moves Mississippi into 7th place nationally, while North Dakota drops to 8th place for the same period.
