New Zealand Ups the Need for Modulars

A post originally published here March 14 said Christchuch, New Zealand, would receive 500 modular homes to temporarily house people while their homes are repaired following the Feb. 22 earthquake.  Now, Stuff.co.nz says the Department of Building and Housing is requesting 2500 modular homes, because housing for out-of-town work crews is also needed.  There are also 450 RVs available. In a related article, TVNZ reports that up to 5000 modular homes may be needed before winter to house the displaced, because of estimates that 5000 homes were damaged beyond safe inhabitation.
