“In a rare moment of sweeping bipartisanship, the House voted 419-0 on Thursday [2.9.2023] to condemn China for flying a spy balloon over the United States,” said the U.K. Daily Mail. While the gesture is largely symbolic, the symbolic act of formally rebuking China is significant. More on that further below, in Part II of today’s report. So, that is a glimmer of hope from the capitol city, the seat of our democratic republic, that all too often appears to be bordering on madness in its actions, inactions, policies, politics, and behaviors.
To attempt in a preface to dispassionately and objectively describe what is occurring in Washington, D.C. is not easy. Thus, many in media and politics don’t even bother trying. Why? Perhaps because attempting to describe the sweeping array of concerns accurately may not appear sane.
- Where does someone start describing the lack of common sense behind seemingly mad behaviors?
- Where does someone wrap up a brief but hopefully accurate high-level summary of the lack of sanity in our national politics?
It is for reasons implied by those questions that there is what could be described as an occasional need for ‘lighter side’ fare, such as the Wacky Wednesday report posted below. With the State of the Union (SOTU) in the backdrop – and citing Biden, Ciscomani, Sanders and Trump remarks – it sheds light on what’s occurring in the U.S. and in our manufactured home industry. Before going into troubling news, let’s pause and stress the ‘glimmer of hope’ from a “rare moment of sweeping bipartisanship” that occurred yesterday (2.9.2023). If sanity can take hold from time to time, that means sanity could occur more often. That’s hopeful.
Democratic Senator William Proxmire (WI-D) insightfully quipped the following.
“There are no coincidences in Washington (D.C.).” and “Follow the Money” are necessary insights for understanding what happens in American politics. Conservatives as well as liberals and leftists need to grasp those remarks.
Democratic President Lyndon Banes Johnson (LBJ-D) didn’t use the words paltering and posturing, but that is what the quotable quip below is about.
Rahm Emanuel was the chief of staff for Democratic President Barack Hussein Obama (D). He was also the Mayor of Chicago, a ‘deep blue’ city surrounded by deep blue counties. Emanuel famously observed remarked that “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you could not do before.” (Circa 2007) That was also Emanuel’s similar “Never let a serious crisis go to waste.”
What Emanuel didn’t say is that policies can be put in place that are all but guaranteed to cause problems down the road.
Meaning, a proverbial fuse can be lit to an issue that leads to or causes a crisis. Then, the crisis is used to throw money at a problem to ‘solve’ it. Some of that money may end up in the hands of special interests. Special interests may have been behind the policies that led to the crisis. One of several past examples is the years of ‘liar loans’ and the bundling of subprime loans that were sold to the secondary market that occurred in conventional housing. They eventually led to the economic meltdown of 2008. It not only was predictable, but it was also predicted. Nevertheless, politics and crony capitalism allowed that crisis to develop and finally erupt. The public, through taxpayer bailouts and other negative economic consequences, paid the price. Those in the middle of that mix suffered little or no consequences.
Those remarks and observations are useful points in decoding what happens in American politics. Certainly, people on both sides of the two major parties have used or benefited from those dynamics. There are also ‘good guys’ (women and men) from both major parties that periodically shed light on what’s been occurring in the U.S. in slow motion for decades. But when the temperature of a pot of water on a stovetop is steadily raised, at some point, the water will boil. By slowly and steadily moving the temperature up, the temperature in America is near the boiling point.
These notions are as important for solution-oriented Democrats, Republicans, Independents and others. Each side has something of merit to share, and with that in mind, let’s pivot from remarks from Democrats to some by a Republican, even if some on the right think that woman may be “a RINO.”

RNC chief: Biden has ‘no interest’ in fixing crises he’s created
Americans are ‘poorer, less safe,’ and facing invasion of illegals, deadly drugs
By Bob Unruh Published February 9, 2023 at 5:06pm
Ronna McDaniel, recently re-elected as chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, says Joe Biden will be gone following the 2024 election.
Because under his leadership, Americans are poorer and less safe.
In a commentary at Fox News, she explained Biden “must be living in a different reality than the Americans he claims to represent.”
“Here’s the truth,” she said, reacting to Biden’s self-congratulatory State of the Union this week. “This country is hurting, and it’s because Biden has been an abject failure as president. No amount of spin can conceal the facts.”
She noted, “Under Biden’s failed leadership, Americans are poorer and less safe. Our southern border is wide open, and deadly drugs are pouring into our communities. Our children are still suffering the devastating effects of Democrat-led school lockdowns.”
He, however, has “no interest” in fixing the crises he’s created.
“Biden tried to paint a rosy picture of the economy, but Americans from coast-to-coast see right through his dishonesty. According to a new ABC News poll, a record number of people say they are financially worse off under Biden. And according to a recent CBS News poll, 76% of Americans are concerned about inflation, and 61% of Americans rate the economy as ‘bad,'” she explained.
She continued, “The numbers don’t lie: Since Biden took office, real wages, incomes and savings are all down across the board. Americans have lost $9,300 on average paying for the increased cost of living since Biden took office. Biden’s economy is leaving folks behind, and no canned applause line can ease the pain that families are feeling on a daily basis.”
Further, there’s his crisis with an invasion of illegal aliens at the southern border, drug cartels expanding their reach, skyrocketing inflation, high energy prices, his plans for new taxes, and other issues.
“When it comes to crises that have occurred on his watch, he either ignored them completely or misrepresented the situation. He mentioned COVID-19, but failed to mention that our kids are suffering devastating long-term effects from Democrat-led school lockdowns that his administration worked with far-left teachers unions to uphold,” she said. ##
Part II – Additional Information with More MHProNews Analysis and Commentary
Some people on the right see Ronna Romney McDaniel as a Republican in Name Only (RINO) or as an “Establishment” Republican that may have helped President Donald J. Trump get into the White House, but has often failed to deliver in the 2018, 2020, and 2022 elections since. The chair, be it woman or man, of the Republican National Committee (RNC), or their Democratic counterpart, is a powerful position that can make a significant difference in practical ways. Romney has ripped her “Uncle Mitch” when the Utah Senator criticized President Trump, but she is one of several possible examples of a less than ideal person in a key GOP position. Nevertheless, Trump ‘supported’ her for re-election to her post, perhaps because she was likely to win anyway. That shows how twisted politics can be in Washington, D.C. But the answer isn’t to throw up one’s hands and walk away in disgust. Because all who check out and don’t vote who can are only empowering those who are part of the problem.
The political cartoon below is hyperbole. There are people on the right serious about fixing what’s gone wrong. There are millions of voters on the left, often ‘true liberals’ who are not blindly leftist, that sincerely want to solve problems too. While the right track wrong track polls have fluctuated in much of the Biden era, it has been as high as in the 80+ percent range, and was recently said to be at 71 percent. That means that a sizable number of Democrats are not happy with a Democratic White House and two years of a Democratic run Congress and federal bureaucracy.
It is fair to say that for decades politicians from both major parties in Washington, D.C. have been bought and paid for by deep pockets. Costly campaigns require big bucks. While there are exceptions, when the candidate and their campaign who spent less wins (Trump is an example), often the big money wins. An example of the big money losing is: “Stacey Abrams’ campaign set another fundraising record in her second bid for governor, raising $113 million for a rematch she ultimately lost to Gov. Brian Kemp,” said the left-leaning Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) in the November 2022 general election. Abrams’ loss to Gov Kemp (R) was by a bigger margin the second time around than the first.
As Tom Hardiman of the Modular Home Builders Association (MHBA) indicated, there was a good bit of cronyism – what he called “political payoffs” in the Biden-Democratic agenda.
Let’s review a few reports and then make some key fact-based points based on them.
Biden promised big progress in his housing plan, which Hardiman said would be ‘turn the American Dream into the American Nightmare.’ Hardiman proved to be correct. The Biden plan, which included manufactured housing, has resulted in the opposite of progress. That’s according to sources that are routinely Democratic friendly, such as left-leaning CNN and MSNBC.
Some 9 million younger Americans moved back to mom and dad’s place in 2022 alone.
Biden and his supporters promised the opposite of those outcomes. Left-leaning USA Today said that many young people are looking at housing as “a scam” because of the bait and switch promises vs. delivery.
Those factoids referenced above demonstrate what MHLivingNews reported in the report from a HUD research report, linked below. Namely, that be it Democrats or Republicans, the solutions to the affordable housing crisis have been known for ’50 years.’ Both major parties promise action. Neither has totally delivered. While there are multiple reasons why, that snapshot begs the question, why? How is that possible? While tens of billions are spent annually on affordable housing programs, and have been for decades, why is there mainly negative progress?
While that political cartoon above has some hyperbole and oversimplification, there is some truth to it, which is what makes it clever or ‘funny.’ But again, this isn’t a reason to walk away in disgust. Those who ‘check out’ only make it easier for the subtle ruling class to keep ruling. For over a century, what were once called “Rober Barrons” pivoted after the enactment of antitrust laws in the late 1800s. The battle between the money powers and the masses of Americans had to be masked. The way it was masked are numerous, but among them, the money powers increasingly bought and consolidated the media through their corporate interests. As left-leaning Wikipedia says about “concentration of media” is the following. “Concentration of media ownership (also known as media consolidation or media convergence) is a process whereby progressively fewer individuals or organizations control increasing shares of the mass media.”
“The unprecedented consolidation of the modern media industry has severe consequences,” wrote Helen Johnson in Miscellany News. Johnson said: In 1983 there were 50 dominant media corporations. Today there are five. These five conglomerates own about 90 percent of the media in the United States, including newspapers, magazines, book publishers, motion picture studios and radio and television stations. As of 2020, the five media giants are AT&T (Time Warner, CNN, HBO), Comcast (NBC Universal, Telemundo, Universal Pictures), Disney (ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Marvel Studios), News Corp (Fox News, Wall Street Journal, New York Post) and ViacomCBS (CBS, Paramount Pictures).” That was 4.29.2021. Since then, CNN is changed hands from AT&T to Warner Bros. But the point of media consolidation remains the same. Who says? People in media and who study media for a living.
Right wing media can routinely slam Democrats. Left wing media can routinely slam Republicans. But there is more to it than either of those perspectives. So long as the left and right are kept divided, there will only be division. With division, the billionaires get to divide and rule. Listen to what they have said very carefully.
Much of what occurs in Washington, D.C. – or in the manufactured housing industry and other professions – is stage craft. For example. Some bills are filed that are doomed to fail before they are submitted. That filed bill may ‘look good’ to some supporters, but it isn’t going to advance a possibly useful cause. An example of that from MHVille is the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) bill from the prior Congressional session. MHProNews predicted early on that it would not pass. But MHI kept talking it up, in email after email. The article below was not the first, but it said on 6.9.2022 that MHI backed HR 7651 was going nowhere. It would not pass. It didn’t. Where we geniuses for saying so? Hardly. We simply looked at the facts and evidence and concluded what was obvious. What that strongly implies is that MHI was posturing and paltering. Surely, if MHProNews knew it their bill wouldn’t pass, they did too.
MHProNews has invested time in informing our audience on the realities, not just the talking points, behind what explains our industry’s lack of progress, as well as what explains our nation’s lack of progress. Paltering and posturing are just two of the factors. This from 9.18.2022 has also stood the test of time.
Former Democratic Governor Gerlad “Jerry” Brown said over a quarter of a century ago that the system is rigged. He said who has rigged it. He was a political insider. Jerry Brown was in a position to know. Why he admitted these things to a minor publication is a fair question. Perhaps the L.A. Times, the New York Times, and the Washington Post would never have published it.
What ex-Governor Brown described is feudalism. A now former Washington Post writer and university professor, once a Democrat, and now one no longer – Joel Kotkin laid out the evidence reported by MHLivingNews in the report below.
That would sound like wacko conspiracy theory thinking, save but the oddity that billionaire Warren Buffett has de facto confirmed what Kotkin and ex-Gov. Brown said. Buffett bragged about class warfare and how his class, the rich class, was winning and “has won.”
Senator Barack Obama (D) became President Barack Obama due in part to people like Warren Buffett. For years, the billionaires provided funding for Democratic candidates and left-wining causes. The facts are not easily disputed. That doesn’t mean that some Republicans aren’t ‘in on it’ too, they are. Trump may or may not be the Republican nominee for president in 2024. But what he did was further expose the rigged system, which he frankly admitted he was in on before running in 2015-2016. Trump went from a beloved media figure to being called a racist and everything else afterward. Whatever his weaknesses, and Trump has them as do all other mortals walking the earth today, he blew the whistle. And he called for antitrust action, among other changes, to break up the rigged system.
Trump also called for changes with the U.S. relations with China. MHProNews has reported for years that U.S. trade policy with China was insane. See the reports linked below, and then think about that 419-0 vote mentioned at the top.
Certain conservatives do not do their audiences any favor when they merely mock or say that Joe Biden’s policies are bad or insane, or when they slam him as having dementia. Biden and his handlers are not stupid. They are sly. The Biden regime allowed the Russians to attack Ukraine. The Biden team ‘gave’ hundreds of billions to certain Americans, but caused inflation in the process. The Biden team allowed a mostly secure U.S. Mexican border to be mostly opened. The Biden regime reportedly cut deals with Chinese, Ukrainian, and Russians that enriched their family (see the above). They are not alone. Warren Buffett (and he and his fellow oligarch’s business interests), William “Bill” Gates III, and other American billionaires and corporate interests have been pouring money into Communist China for decades. Why are we surprised when China has finally come close to ‘catching up’ (and in some areas, surpassing) the U.S. military?
These are examples of setting events in motion that created a crisis. That’s diabolical genius, if there is such a thing.
It is the masses of American people that have been sold out, including Democrats, but by extension, Republican and independents too. The inflation we have was obvious. MHProNews predicated it in advance as massive spending bills were passed and as the Fed ‘printed’ money. When the money supply grows that ‘inflates’ the money supply. The effect of inflated money supply is that each dollar is worth less. Democratic Party House Whip James Clyburn (SC-D) said as much before the 2022 midterms.
Bush family Republicans were in that “Establishment Republican” camp, as were numbers of politicians. When Trump beat them in the 2015-2016 campaign for the GOP nomination, he took on the money powers behind BOTH major parties. It is amazing that this video below has not been pulled by YouTube, but it speaks volumes.
This was as much a blast against the billionaires behind the GOP as the billionaires behind Democrats like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or Joe Biden. Who says? The facts provided by left-leaning media and organizations. Their party has been taken over by leftist supporting billionaires. But why?
But all the bad news may be good news. The reason for all this duplicity is to keep the billionaires from getting the “pitchforks.” But as their policies are increasingly experienced by “We the People” the more likely that they will rebel anyway, despite and because of years of broken Democratic (and RINO/Establishment Republicans vs. America First Republicans) candidates. Primaries matter. Ongoing engagement matters.
There are ways to limit the money powers. But people MUST move beyond their knee-jerk habits of blindly supporting this or that politician because of a letter behind their name.
Our industry’s woes are a microcosm of our national woes. Feudalism is in evidence in philanthropy, in business, in politics. This isn’t traditional monopoly power, although that exists. It is more like oligopoly style monopoly power, with a few brands dominating in any given field (including media, big tech, big pharma, manufactured housing, etc.).
MHProNews leads many – and at times, most – media on these topics. Note the example below.
The various ways that the system is rigged are becoming more evident. There are people who served in the Trump Administration who are coming out and speaking about the realities of the federal government today.
Politicians of whatever party cannot be blindly trusted. There are ongoing temptations to be ‘bought off’ by the monied powers or censored by the people who ‘own’ the media and much of big tech. Be it leaders in politics or business, if promises are made and sly are broken, distrust should follow.
Antitrust, other legal efforts, and sharing the truth on a routine basis are tools that can turn the tide.
