The District of Summerland in British Columbia, Canada is looking to replace an old Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) post, possibly with affordable modular housing. Summerland Mayor Janice does not like the idea of high-rise apartments, but is open to ideas from developers for the two acres, especially for dense housing options. “We’re looking for not just residential housing, but something like a pocket neighborhood so there’s more housing on a smaller piece of land,” explains Perrino. As MHProNews has learned from am1150.ca, the Summerland RCMP moved to a new building in 2012, leaving the structure in south central British Columbia vacant.
