“Oligarchs Overriding the Will of Democratic Voters,” stated the opening words of an emailed news update by longtime leftist attorney-turned award-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald. The Teamsters union represents some 1.3 million members who are traditionally Democratic in stance, but as left-leaning CBS News said (see Part V below) reported, Teamster’s President Sean “O’Brien’s speech signifies a shift within the GOP that’s become more visible since Trump’s election in 2016. The party has moved from a corporate, Wall Street-focused message toward a more worker-friendly tone.” As left-leaning Axios said: “Teamsters president Sean O’Brien savages big business in RNC speech.” The right-leaning Daily Signal (also Part V below) noted that O’Brien said: “The biggest recipients of welfare in this country are corporations, and this is real corruption. We must put workers first.” Next, per left-leaning Wikipedia: “Amber Rose Levonchuck is an American model, rapper and television personality.” Rose electrified RNC attendees in remarks that began with her saying: “We’ve been lied to.” Business Insider said: “In a since-deleted Instagram post the same year, Rose described herself as: “Black, Portuguese, Irish, and Italian.” The Black Entertainment Network (BET) said: “Amber Rose’s mother is actually Cape Verdean” (i.e.: Black). This article will include be a smorgasbord of topics that address the headline issues including the need for more affordable housing, higher incomes, lower living costs, greater peace and security as union leaders, politicos, and everyday Americans from a diverse age, ethnicity, economic, and political backgrounds were paraded on stage with a largely positive message for creating a brighter future during the opening day of the 2024 Republican National Convention.
Tens of millions typically tune in to such conventions, which left-leaning Bing’s AI powered Copilot said: “The Republican National Convention (RNC) for 2024 officially began in Milwaukee on Monday. Despite an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump just days before, the convention proceeded with more than 50,000 attendees, including approximately 2,400 Republican delegates1… If you’re interested in watching the convention, you can tune in via the City Channel, which broadcasts the event 24/7 until midnight on July 193.” Cable-cutting MHProNews monitored parts of the convention via the RNC’s livestream via YouTube.
As a programming notice, MHProNews notes that today there will be a virtual discussion on the Duty to Serve (DTS) Manufactured Housing which this writer is scheduled to present at later today, which will be covered in a planned upcoming report. That noted, several items from yesterday’s RNC convention were different or even historic in nature, as Republicans take yet another step away from being the “corporate” party to becoming a bigger, broader, more populist party that embraced union leaders, women and men of various ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities sharing a largely optimistic vision for the future while candidly addressing the current challenges and those of recent years which led the U.S.A. to this moment in time.
We are imploding on multiple fronts, all at once.
This is what happens when ego, greed and power are allowed to take precedence over liberty, equality and justice.
This is the psychopathic mindset adopted by the architects of the Deep State,” said John and Nisha Whitehead, known for bashing both major parties, and for their leadership of the constitutional law foundation, the Rutherford Institute, which left-leaning Wikipedia said is “dedicated to the defense of civil liberties, human rights, and religious liberties.”
Not necessarily in any order of importance are the following items, starting with The Center Square‘s provided report to MHProNews about a July 2024 “right track/wrong track” survey. This helps frame the ‘mood’ of the nation, which for years such polls have indicated that the U.S. is on ‘the wrong track.’
Part I
Poll: Two thirds of American voters say country is heading in wrong direction
A new poll of voters finds two thirds of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, with Democrats equally divided on the question.
The Center Square Voters’ Voice poll found 65% of voters said the country is headed in the wrong direction, 24% said the country is headed in the right direction and 11% were unsure.
When voters were asked the same question in late March, 62% said things were moving in the wrong direction, while 29% said things were moving in the right direction and 9% were unsure.
Broken down by party preference, the results are sharply delineated.
Among Republicans, 87% said the country is headed in the wrong direction, with just 8% saying the country heading is headed in the right direction and 5% unsure.
Among Democrats, 43% said America is heading in the right direction. An almost equal percentage – 42% – said the nation is headed in the wrong direction, with 16% of Democrats saying they are unsure.
Sixty-nine percent of voters who identify as independents said the country is headed in the wrong direction, 16% said America is headed in the right direction and 15% weren’t sure.
In the upcoming presidential election, Black and Hispanic voters could make the difference in whether President Joe Biden is re-elected, or former President Donald Trump earns a second, nonconsecutive term.
In the March poll, 59% of Hispanic voters said the country is going the wrong way. In last week’s poll, that number is up just slightly to 60%.
Among Black voters, 44% in last week’s poll said the country is going in the wrong direction. Back in March that number was only 35%.
“This is a big red flashing light that says ‘warning-warning,’” said David Byler of Noble Predictive Insights. “Democrats have a big problem here.”
Byler tells The Center Square, “Gone are the days when Barack Obama won Black voters 90 to 95%.
Byler cautioned that, in the 2020 election, actual results from Hispanic voters gave Trump slightly less of a bump than polls before the election indicated. Still he said, “Trump is doing a lot better with Black voters and a lot better with Hispanic voters than he was in 2020.”
In terms of income, 71% of likely voters making more than $100,000 a year said the country is going in the wrong direction. Of voters making less than $50,000, 63% said things are going the wrong way.
Gender seemed to make no difference in voter opinions, with 65% of women and 66% of men indicating the country is going in the wrong direction.
The poll was taken July 8-11 and included a sample of 2,295 likely voters: 1,006 Republicans, 1,117 Democrats, and 172 independents.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.1%. ##
Part II – From the Daily Signal to MHProNews is the following.
MHProNews notes that one item that should be underscored about J.D. Vance is that he was not a Trump fan for some time. Updates 2:49 PM ET. The New York Times noted about Vance’s wife that: “The daughter of Indian immigrants, Usha Chilukuri grew up in a San Diego suburb.”
Usha Chilukuri Vance resigned her job at Munger, Tolles & Olson (a DNC law firm in San Francisco), effective with the announcement of her husband, JD Vance, being selected by Donald Trump as his Vice-President nominee.

5 Things to Know About JD Vance
Tyler O’Neil | July 15, 2024
Donald Trump selected Sen. JD Vance from Ohio on Monday as his running mate in the Nov. 5 election, which the former president hopes will return him to the White House. Vance accepted and Vice President Kamala Harris said she’s ready to debate him.
So, who is JD Vance?
Here are five things to know about him.
- A Marine
Vance served in the Marine Corps from 2003 to 2007 as a combat correspondent. He deployed to Iraq for six months in late 2005.
Vance is one of four Marines currently serving in the Senate. The other three are Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Ct.; Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska; and Todd Young, R-Ind.
The late former astronaut John Glenn is the only other person to have represented Ohio in the Senate as a Marine.
- Venture Capitalist
After graduating from Ohio State University in 2009 and Yale Law School in 2013, Vance worked at PayPal founder Peter Thiel’s venture capital firm Mithril Capital between 2016 and 2017.
Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy will immediately recognize the name of Thiel’s firm, which is a reference to an extremely strong and valuable dwarven metal that saves Frodo Baggins’ life in the Peter Jackson film version of “The Fellowship of the Ring.”
Vance also included a nod to Tolkien when he launched his own venture capital firm in Cincinnati. He started Narya Capital in 2020, naming it after one of the three elven rings in “The Lord of the Rings.” The wizard Gandalf (played by Ian McKellen in Jackson’s films) wore the ring, which helps its wearer resist tyranny.
- ‘Hillbilly Elegy’
While working at Mithril Capital, Vance published his bestselling memoir “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of Family and Culture in Crisis” in 2016.
“Hillbilly Elegy,” which describes Vance’s youth in the hollowed-out Rust Belt, captured the struggles of Middle America and catapulted him to cultural and political stardom.
The book highlights the Appalachian values of Vance’s Kentucky family and the socioeconomic problems of his hometown of Middletown, Ohio, where his mother’s parents settled when they were young. Ron Howard directed a 2020 film adaptation starring Glenn Close and Amy Adams.
Commentators noted that the struggles Vance revealed in his memoir echo the experiences of the “forgotten men and women” who helped elect Trump as president in 2016.
- U.S. Senator
Vance, who initially criticized the former president, received Trump’s endorsement in the 2022 U.S. Senate race in Ohio, ultimately defeating Democratic nominee Rep. Tim Ryan.
As senator, Vance has championed many of Trump’s issues. Vance repeatedly has warned about the consequences of illegal immigration and has loudly supported funding the completion of Trump’s wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Vance has opposed experimental transgender medical interventions for minors—often euphemistically branded “gender-affirming care” to hide the true nature of such procedures. He introduced the Protect Children’s Innocence Act to make interventions such as “puberty blockers,” cross-sex hormones, and transgender surgeries a felony when performed on minors.
“Under no circumstances should doctors be allowed to perform these gruesome, irreversible operations on underage children,” the Ohio Republican said in introducing the bill.
Vance has indicated that he would support a federal ban on abortions after 15 weeks’ gestation, although he more recently said abortion laws should be up to the states in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling. In an interview July 7 with “Meet the Press,” Vance said he supports Americans having access to mifepristone, an abortion pill.
He has argued that the U.S. should shift its focus to East Asia, criticized unaccountable U.S. military aid to Ukraine, and backed funding for Israel during its war with the Hamas terrorist organization.
- Family and Faith
Vance, who turns 40 on Aug. 2, has three children with his wife Usha Chilukuri Vance, whom he married in 2014.
Although the Ohio senator grew up in a “conservative, evangelical” branch of Protestantism, he told The Washington Post that he was seriously considering converting to Catholicism in September 2016. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church in Cincinnati in 2019.
Vance chose Augustine of Hippo as his confirmation saint. Augustine, best known for his seminal works “Confessions” and “City of God,” helped found a robust intellectual tradition in the Catholic Church and inspired many Protestants as well.
“One of the subtexts about my return to Christianity is that I had come from a world that wasn’t super-intellectual about the Christian faith,” Vance told columnist Rod Dreher in 2019. “I spend a lot of my time these days among a lot of intellectual people who aren’t Christian. Augustine gave me a way to understand Christian faith in a strongly intellectual way.”
“I also went through an angry atheist phase,” Vance added. “As someone who spent a lot of his life buying into the lie that you had to be stupid to be a Christian, Augustine really demonstrated in a moving way that that’s not true.” ##

Note that left-leaning PolitiFact said:
Claims that the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump was staged are baseless
Examples from PolitiFact included this online comment.
“Trump staging a fake shooting at his rally is amazing theater,” one X user wrote. “We saw him smash fake blood on the side of his head. Those were not gunshot sounds.”
PolitiFact also said:
These claims are baseless.
The FBI is investigating the shooting as an assassination attempt. PolitiFact found no credible news reports or official accounts that the shooting was staged. It was witnessed by thousands of rally attendees, including dozens of news photographers and reporters.
The FBI identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the suspect who shot former President Donald Trump.
Crooks was registered as a Republican in a state where crossover voting was encouraged. Crooks reportedly made a single donation to Joe Biden on the day of his inauguration. According to a tweet that cited left-leaning ABC News:

Per left-leaning CBS News: “Sean O’Brien, Teamsters union chief, becomes first Teamster to address RNC.” From that source are the following.
“Today, the Teamsters are here to say we are not beholden to anyone or any party,” O’Brien said. “We will create an agenda and work with a bipartisan coalition, ready to accomplish something real for the American worker. And I don’t care about getting criticized.”
O’Brien tackled topics that aren’t typically fodder for Republican voters. He blasted big businesses like Walmart and Amazon. He admonished the Chamber of Commerce, calling it “unions for big business.” And he said Washington isn’t looking out for workers. …”
“The American people aren’t stupid, they know the system is broken,” he said. “We all know how Washington is run. Working people have no chance of winning this fight. That’s why I’m here today, because I refuse to keep doing the same things my predecessors did.” …
“President Trump is a candidate who is not afraid of hearing from new, loud and often critical voices, and I think we all can agree, whether people like him or they don’t like him, in light of what happened to him on Saturday, he has proven to be one tough S.O.B.,” O’Brien said.
That “S.O.B.” line sparked resounding applause and cheers from the convention hall.
Several months ago, O’Brien said he asked to speak at both the RNC and Democratic National Convention. Trump invited him to speak, he said.
“President Trump had the backbone to open the doors to this Republican Convention, and that’s unprecedented,” he said. “No other nominee in the race would have invited the Teamsters into this arena.”
At the end of the day, O’Brien said, the Teamsters aren’t interested if a candidate has a “D,” “R” or “I” next to his or her name.
O’Brien’s speech signifies a shift within the GOP that’s become more visible since Trump’s election in 2016. The party has moved from a corporate, Wall Street-focused message toward a more worker-friendly tone. ##
Per left-leaning Axios, the following.
Teamsters president Sean O’Brien delivered a fiery address to close out the first night of the Republican National Convention, castigating big businesses and corporate lobby groups for “waging a war against American workers” — and calling for labor law reform.
Why it matters: O’Brien’s speech stood out among the partisan lineup because he did not endorse former President Trump, yet the Teamsters leader got the most speaking time of the evening.
The big picture: O’Brien’s prominence at the RNC highlights just how important the labor vote is this November, particularly in pivotal swing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
- The speech is the clearest sign of a potential realignment in political loyalties that has Democrats nervous.
Zoom in: While the Teamsters have endorsed Republican presidential candidates previously, a union president had never spoken at an RNC before.
- “It’s an honor to be the first Teamster and our 121 year history to address The Republican National Convention,” O’Brien said.
- He called for bipartisan action on labor reform. A stunning move at a partisan event — amid a party traditionally opposed to unions. He even called out the GOP for its opposition to labor.
You would be forgiven for mistaking O’Brien’s speech as an address at a Democratic convention or in a union hall.
- “Labor law must be reformed. Americans vote for a union, but can never get a union contract,” he said.
- “Companies fire workers who try to join unions and hide behind toothless laws that are meant to protect working people but are manipulated to benefit corporations. This is economic terrorism at its best, an individual cannot withstand such an assault.” …##
I am proud to have been recognized by Sean O’Brien and the @Teamsters for my bipartisan efforts at the RNC! I’ll never stop fighting for working families in the Hudson Valley and across America 💪🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/0SAYWAEgHx

From the right-leaning Daily Signal is the following provided to MHProNews about O’Brien’s speech.
NEWS
Teamsters Chief Praises JD Vance, Among Other GOP Lawmakers, at Convention
In a rare occurrence, the head of one of America’s largest and oldest labor unions spoke about corporate greed at a Republican National Convention.
“The Teamsters are here to say we are not beholden to anyone or any party,” Sean O’Brien, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, told convention delegates Monday night.
O’Brien said he was invited to speak at the convention by former President Donald Trump, who watched the entire speech, along with others, while seated in the convention hall.
“I don’t care about getting criticized. It’s an honor to be the first Teamster in our 121-year history to address the Republican National Convention,” O’Brien said.
The Teamsters have not yet endorsed a presidential candidate, though the union endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020. O’Brien has praised Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, among a few other Republican lawmakers, for what he characterized as pro-union policies.
Trump announced earlier Monday that Vance would be his running mate.
He said he wanted to build a bipartisan coalition to support American workers. He also said he sought to speak to both the Republican and Democratic conventions.
He did note that in the past the Teamsters endorsed Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush, all Republicans.
O’Brien said his decision to speak at the GOP gathering caused “political unrest.”
“Anti-union groups demanded the president rescind his invitation,” he said. “The Left called me a traitor. This is precisely why it’s so important for me to be here today. Think about this. I must be doing something correct if the extremes in both parties think I shouldn’t be on this stage.”
O’Brien praised Vance, as well as Sens. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Reps. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., for what he characterized as listening to unions and standing up to corporations.
“The Teamsters and the GOP may not agree on a lot of issue, but a growing group has shown the courage to sit down and consider points of view that aren’t funded by big money think tanks,” O’Brien said.
The union leader said corporations have their own union in the form of groups such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable.
O’Brien said “elites have no party and no nation,” but are only loyal to their balance sheets
He called for what he characterized as more pro-worker trade policies as well as policies that prevent companies from leaving the United States to improve their bottom line.
The Teamsters president also decried what he called “economic terrorism” by companies that prevent employees from unionizing.
He called for “corporate welfare reform,” noting the amount of government subsidies massive corporations such as Amazon, Uber, and Lyft are getting.
“These companies offer no real health insurance, no retirement benefits, no paid leave, [and are] relying on underfunded public assistance,” O’Brien said. “And who foots the bill? The individual taxpayer. The biggest recipients of welfare in this country are corporations, and this is real corruption. We must put workers first.” ##

5) No person, no political party is perfect. Usually, mere mortals are far from ideal. For years, MHProNews has illustrated the immense, and at times abused power, of the mainstream media and big tech. For instance, this graphic below has been used by MHProNews since January 22, 2020.

8) Because of the power of Big Tech to suppress, throttle, or censor and remove information they decide to squelch, what should be an information age is in too many cases a misinformation age. Media experts, and media insiders have said as much, so these are not ‘conspiracy theories’ but demonstrably true concerns.
9) More recently…
10) Dr. Chrysalis Wright, Ph.D., has shared important points. It does take more time to get news from a range of sources across the left-right media divide. It does take time to fact check, and not simply swallow the narrative that is often spoon fed to groups by individuals or organizations that are ‘trusted.’
11) This pattern very much applies to manufactured housing, as MHProNews has been reporting for years. For example, it is entirely possible that if not for the efforts of the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (a.k.a.: MHARR), and reporting with analysis by MHProNews/MHLivingNews, that there would be no suit by the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) with respect to the Department of Energy (DOE) energy case.
12) The manipulation of the American public using media and other methods is hardly new. It dates back well over a century. Because it has been well documented, for those willing to investigate the truth behind seemingly well told myths and fables, it should be all the more reason to question what and be skeptical when political/governmental rhetoric is deployed. To help inform our readers on more accurate vs. less accurate history, MHProNews periodically does reports like the ones linked below. It is only after these sorts of insights are understood that it becomes easier to understand how manufactured housing could remain suppressed for essentially all of the 21st century.
13) We opened with the headline: ‘Oligarchs Overriding Will of Democratic Voters’ ‘Corporate Welfare’ ‘We’ve Been Lied to’ More Affordable Housing Call as 2/3rds Say Nation on Wrong Track.” The markets report follows shortly.
It may take 10x to 12x more time to do a fact and evidence-packed article like this than it does to do a 400-to-800-word news item, but this article lays out plenty of insights that allow thinking Americans and others to ponder what the evidence means.
