The Monette (AR) City Council unanimously passed an ordinance regarding the placement, appearance and age of manufactured homes newly sited within the city limits. The Town-Crier says the homes must be no older than five years, contain 720 square feet, have underpinning around the base of the dwelling and be anchored to the ground. A building permit must be issued before siting, with an inspection to follow. The manufactured home must be owner-occupied, not a rental unit, and titled in the name of the property owner where the house sits. MHProNews has learned the council met in special session to discuss this ordinance, which will go into effect immediately in this northeastern Arkansas town.
