A significant player in the negotiation and adoption of many provisions of the Delaware Manufactured Home Owners and Community Owners Act, Kenneth S. Clark Sr., Nanticoke Chief Red Deer, passed away at home on his ancestral grounds near Millsboro, Oct. 9, 2015, at 84. The son and grandson of Nanticoke chiefs, he served as Chief of the Nanticoke Indian Tribe for more than 30 years, according to capegazette.villagesoup.
He reactivated many of the customs and rituals of the Tribe that had lain dormant, and networked with other councils, associations and governmental bodies, becoming active in politics, furthering the strength of his community.
Chief Clark also owned Riverdale Park manufactured home community in Millsboro, MHProNews has learned, and was a founding member of the First State Manufactured Housing Association FSMHA, serving on the board continuously. In 2014 he received FSMHA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. MHProNews extends its deepest sympathies to Chief Red Deer’s family. ##
