Shirlye Kaufman Birnbrey and her husband George Kaufman opened Kaufman Supply, a distributor of supplies for manufactured housing, in Augusta, Georgia in 1962. They operated the business until his death in 1983, and she remained with the company along with three of their children until it was sold in 1998, according to ajc.com. Mrs. Birnbrey was also known for her extensive philanthropic efforts. MHProNews extends its deepest condolences to the family.
