Jetsongreen reports on a variation our previously reported ‘tiny house’ trend. Austin, TX based Sett Studio is building a line of prefab studios that are 97 to 192 square feet in size. Sett’s modern design with energy-efficient construction can be used as a home office, art studio, exercise or meditation space, kids room, game room, or guest room. A Sett Studio can be purchased for about $20,000 – $30,000. The model shown features an interior application of Monotread, a milled OSB made from fast-growing, sustainably-harvested wood. On the outside, the tiny studio can be finished with Hardie siding, charred wood, or stainless metal shingles. A Sett Studio is built using Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) and Energy Star windows. Construction takes some 45 days with installation finished in a about two days. Transportation costs are between $500-$3,000 depending on where the studio is shipped. If building permits are necessary, Sett Studio can provide architectural drawings for an additional fee.
