Washington, D.C., January 5, 2015 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing industry production growth continued during November 2014. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 4,955 homes in November 2014, a 1.7% increase over the 4,870 HUD Code homes produced during November 2013. Cumulative industry production for 2014 (with statistics for the month of December 2014 yet to be reported) now totals 59,627 homes, a 6.0% increase over the 56,243 HUD Code homes produced through November 2013.
A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through November 2014 — with cumulative, monthly, current year-to-date (2014) and prior year-to-date (2013) shipment totals per category as indicated — are:
