Washington, D.C., October 3, 2012 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the manufactured housing industry rebound that began in August 2011 has now entered its second year, with 13 consecutive months of production increases. Just-released statistics for August 2012 indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,580 homes, an increase of 7.5% from the 5,187 HUD Code homes produced during August 2011. Cumulative 2012 industry production now totals 37,516 homes, up 17.2% from cumulative industry production of 32,015 homes during the same period in 2011.
A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states for the period of August 2011 to August 2012 — with cumulative shipment totals as indicated — are:

4. Florida ——————————- 2,761 homes
5. North Carolina ———————- 2,620 homes
6. Kentucky —————————– 2,433 homes

8. Mississippi ————————— 2,139 homes
9. Tennessee —————————- 1,879 homes
10. Oklahoma ————————— 1,855 homes
The latest shipment information for August 2012 moves Kentucky into sixth place nationally, while North Dakota drops slightly, into the seventh spot.
