Washington, D.C., October 3, 2013 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing production increased once again during August 2013. Just-released statistics for August 2013 indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,886 homes, an increase of 5.5% over the 5,580 HUD Code homes produced during August 2012. Cumulative 2013 industry production now totals 39,812 homes, a 6.1% increase over the 37,516 homes produced over the same period in 2012.
A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through August 2013 — with cumulative shipment totals as indicated — are:

3. Florida ——————————– 5,596 homes
4. Alabama —————————— 5,098 homes
5. North Carolina ———————– 5,040 homes
6. Kentucky —————————– 4,515 homes

8. Oklahoma —————————- 3,636 homes
9. Tennessee —————————- 3,600 homes
10. California ————————— 3,537 homes
The latest information for August 2013 moves Alabama into fourth place on the top-ten list, while North Carolina falls slightly to fifth place.
