The Olympian reports Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is offering free energy upgrades to residents of manufactured homes who have electric forced-air for their primary heat source in Thurston County, Wash., the Olympia area. With up to a $500 value per home, and four out of five manufactured homes with leaking HVAC systems, energy savings could be up to 30%. Procedures include sealing ductwork, installing energy-efficient shower heads and compact fluorescent light fixtures, and replacing air filters. PSE estimates there are 8,400 manufactured homes in the Thurston County area that may benefit from this service. As MHProNews reported April 5, 2012 and May 20, 2011, PSE has offered this service to MH residents the past two years as well.
